The CEGS mission is to manage and disseminate knowledge, best practices and learning on gender statistics, with the aim of strengthening the impact of statistics on decision-making.

The CEGS digital repository is a tool to fulfil this purpose. This digital repository is a database that contains information on identified best practices in the generation of gender statistics from different regions, such as briefing notes, conceptual papers, policy memos, methodologies, etc. In the first three years of implementation, the content will primarily focus on:

Violence against women
Unpaid care and domestic work
Geospatial analysis

The information can be accessed 24/7 by different stakeholders from national statistics systems and other users around the world.

The CEGS monitors innovative and efficient methodologies to produce gender data and identifies these with the view to achieve harmonized gender statistics that can be compared globally.
